Nigerian actor, Ali Nuhu, has revealed the reason he stopped acting romantic scenes in Nigerian movies. According to him, those practices contravene his religious and cultural standards.
The popular actor had an interview with BBC Hausa on Thursday, during which he made the revelation.
“I come from the North, and I’m a Muslim,” he said. “My culture and religion [do] not allow for that, so I stopped acting in scenes like that.
“People talk about it all over but I personally think it out as an ambassador of my culture and religion and stopped.”
The actor featured in several Nollywood movies and was popular for playing love roles. Those roles, however, demanded romantic moments that he has now confessed are against his moral standards.
That explains why he has taken up fewer roles in the Nollywood English movies and has instead featured more in Kannywood movies.
