A truck conveying explosives resulted in an explosion in Akure earlier today. It was so loud that several people were in shock. The explosion left a huge ditch in the very busy Akure-Owo road, making it unmotorable.
Fortunately, there were no deaths even though around 50 people sustained various degrees of injuries.
At first, the cause of the explosion wasn’t certain. Therefore, the only thing people could do was speculate.
Some people called it asteroids while others called it a thunderstorm. However, the funniest explanation some people gave was that the ‘Akure’s version of rapture’ had taken place.

Well, as governor Akeredolu has revealed during a press briefing, it was neither asteroids nor rapture. Rather, the explosion was caused by a vehicle conveying explosives.
