JAMB Result 2019: Did JAMB Cancel The Exam?

Published on

One theory that has been flying around social media claims that the recently concluded JAMB 2019 exam was canceled. As a result, we received a lot of questions asking: “did jamb really cancel all the results for 2019?”

If you’ve been having any doubts, we believe reading this article will clear all of those doubts.

In previous year, it didn’t take more than three days for JAMB to release results for most of the students who sat for the exams.

However, JAMB 2019 results have witnessed an unusual delay. Understandably, this delay has caused panic among virtually all the students who sat for the exam and are eager to check their results.

One of the worst fears for most students is to see JAMB cancel the exam and, as a result, force students to go through the strenuous process of exam preparation over again.

Did JAMB cancel 2019 exams and results?

From the reports reaching us, JAMB didn’t cancel the entire exam or results. We previously explained that the reason for the delay is so that all misconducts and malpractices be fished out.

Our findings is in accordance to the statement of JAMB Head of Information, Mr. Fabian Benjamin, which he gave in an interview in Abuja yesterday.

He said: “We want to clean up the system to ensure that those who have been benefiting from its illegality, in 2019, we will ensure they will never benefit from such act again.”

According to PremiumTimes Nigeria, a JAMB official who pleaded anonymity confessed that a lot of results will be cancelled. He even claimed that nearly half of the candidates who sat for the exams may end up not seeing their results.

He said: “It was worse before now but because we used to release results so soon after the examination, culprits are usually not punished. Our target is to have zero malpractice and we will get there.”

He went ahead to promise serious punishment for CBT centres and JAMB officials who aided malpractices nationwide.

All exam centres have CCTV cameras installed in them; all it takes to fish out malpractices is to review the footages and discover all irregularities.

Owing to that, the release of the results might take a while. If you are certain you haven’t indulged in any form of malpractices, then you can rest assured knowing your result will be released in due time.
