Kano Humiliates, Kaduna Exalts – as El-Rufai bows to Sanusi Lamido in Awe

0

This week has seen Nigerians witness both the humiliation and exaltation of Sanusi Lamido II, the former emir of Kano.

Early into the week, Sanusi Lamido II was shockingly dethroned as Emir of Kano. Many people linked it to the fact that he has always been a strong critic of the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Following his dethronement, he was reportedly escorted like some criminal and banished to Nasarawa State and Bayero was named The Emir of Kano in his stead.

Kaduna exalts Sanusi Lamido II

Whilst most people were still trying to digest the decision reached by the Kano State Governor, Kaduna State Government gave Sanusi an appointment; El-Rufai made an announcement in which he revealed that the former emir is now the vice-chairman of KADIPA.

But that’s not all…

…Shortly after Kaduna State appointed him as the vice-chairman of KADIPA, they announced him as the new Chancellor of Kaduna State University.

El-Rufai bows AGAIN!

Whilst Sanusi Lamido was Emir of Kano, El-Rufai displayed utmost respect for him, bowing even in public meetings.

It appears El-Rufai hasn’t lost the respect he has for the deposed emir, as he can be seen in a recent picture bowing to the Sanusi again.

The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Friday, met with the dethroned Emir of Kano in Awe, Nasarawa State.

It is not clear why Abdullahi Umar Ganduje chose to disgrace HRH Sanusi Lamido the way he did or why El-Rufai has chosen to exalt him the way he has done.

One thing that is clear is that they are both governors of 2 neighbouring northwestern states.
