A Twitter user has taken to his account to share photos of a horrible place in Port Harcourt where he accuses the EFCC of keeping detainees.
As expected, several Nigerians have offered mixed reactions to those photos.
In the photos, one can notice some people who look like inmates clustered up in a very tight place.
Furthermore, they were all not wearing shirts. Some of them were, in fact, putting on just boxer shorts.
The user claims that the place was the EFCC Zonal Office in Port Harcourt.
The user who posted it, @therealdayne, captioned the photos: “As spotted today, @EFCC Zonal Office in Port, what’s your take on this”.
He went on to say, “I was made to know that this is an everyday thing, that @officialEFCC zonal office in PH keeps [these] people here, under the rain and sun, Night and Day, they do not have internal detention centre, where they can keep them when the weather is unfavourable.”
The tweet has since gone viral with several people calling out the EFCC while some alleged that it’s a lie.
“I boldly say this is a lie. The EFCC detention centre does not keep detainees outside. It is a two-sided facility for men and women. It is not big, but inmates are well taken care of. Inmates are fed three times a day. There is a Doctor and functioning clinic and inmates are,” one user said.
As we have earlier said, the tweet is still trending at the moment. However, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has at the moment neither confirmed nor debunked those claims.
