Nigerian activist, Mercy Makinde, shared a distressing video of a young mother giving her son shisha to smoke. According to several sources, the boy is roughly 5 years old, which makes it highly dangerous.
Mercy Makinde who tags herself a Women Empowerment Advocate, has called on Nigerians to help her locate the woman.
‘Fellow Nigerians please help me find this lady please I beg you all,’ she wrote. ‘I have a cash prize for who can help me locate her,’ she added.
Shisha is dangerous for children. In fact, people are not supposed to take them to shisha cafes, as even passive smoking is still dangerous, according to TheNational.ae. It can cause ‘sudden infant death syndrome and induce asthma’.
HealthyChildren.org also published a journal revealing that it is not safe for adults, let along children.
Hookah smokers may end up breathing in higher amounts of nicotine, metals, and toxic chemicals. Germs are also spread on the hoses’ shared mouthpieces.
