NCDC announces 2 new cases of coronavirus, tally rises to 42 nationwide

The NCDC has announced two new cases of coronavirus, taking the nationwide tally to 42. Out of the two new cases, Lagos and Ogun State have one apiece.

One of the new cases is a returning traveller while the second case is direct contact of a person who had previously tested positive.

Currently, Nigeria has only recorded 1 death from the virus; Suleiman Achimugu, who had a serious underlying health condition.

Meanwhile, 2 persons have recovered fully from the illness and left hospital.

At the moment, Lagos State commands a greater proportion of the total infections in Nigeria with a total of 29. Next is the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria that has so far recorded 7 cases.
