Apparently, Netflix’s business has continued to boom despite the worldwide lockdown and economic difficulties.
The company has revealed that they added a record 16 million subscribers to their streaming platform.
Clearly, the worldwide lockdown has led to several people confined to their homes to subscribe more to streaming services.
“Membership growth has temporarily accelerated due to home confinement,” Netflix said in its quarterly shareholder letter Tuesday.
“We expect viewing to decline and membership growth to decelerate as home confinement ends, which we hope is soon.”
Meanwhile, the company disclosed that it halted production of some of its series.
“some cash spending on content will be delayed, improving our free cash flow, and some title releases will be delayed, typically by a quarter.”
During the same briefing, Netflix disclosed that they expect the number to continue increasing a very fast pace, provided he lockdown lingers much longer.
