Nigeria’s crime-fighting agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Hushpuppi “Nigeria’s most-wanted hacker”.
According to the agency, Hushpuppi has a case to answer with them. Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson of the EFCC said this.
In a statement made available to Vanguard, Oyewale said the agency is working in collaboration with the FBI to apprehend other fraudsters that are linked to him.
Furthermore, it noted that they are working towards identifying victims of Hushpuppi’s illegal deals.
The statement reads; “The Commission is engaging with the FBI in tracing the victims of his fraudulent transactions and other fraudsters having direct involvement with him.
“Local cybercriminals with money laundering networks with him, are also being investigated,” he said.
Recall that Naijahomebased reported that Ramoni Igbalode, alias Ray Hushpuppi, was recently arrested by the International Police (Interpol) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation( FBI) in Dubai.
The Dubai based Instagram big boy was reportedly arrested on the 10th of June, 2020. He is still being held in Dubai.
Nigerian celebrities like Terry G, Mompha, and indeed the Nigerians on Twitter has reacted to his arrest.
Many are pleased with the arrest noting that his source of wealth is questionable. While others believe that he is into real estate business as he had earlier declared.
Hushpuppi is known for his lavish lifestyle which he flaunts on social media. His cars alone are believed to be worth close to N1bn; according to research by Naijahomebased.
