The number of coronavirus infections in Nigeria has now risen to 7,016 after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced 339 fresh cases.
Lagos State has by far the highest increase after recording 139 cases alone. Next is Kano State with a comparably lower number of increase after recording just 28 cases.

Meanwhile, the death toll now stands at 211 after the NCDC announced 11 deaths in one day.

Furthermore, 1,907 have fully recovered from the viral infection and have been discharged from hospital.
Therefore, the number of active cases currently stands at 4,898.
In other news, the Lagos State government has revealed that it has spent roughly N800 million on COVID-19 tests alone.
According to the health minister all of the 16,000 tests have been free of charge for the patients as the government chose to bear the financial burden.
