No money was burnt in the fire outbreak at the Accountant General’s Office – Ministry of Finance says

Following the fire incident that occurred at the office of the accountant general, there were rumours that ₦700b meant for COVID-19 relief fund was lost.

However, the Ministry of Finance has taken to Twitter to refute these claims.

It wrote: “The general public should take note, @Zshamsuna did not grant a press conference or interviews.

“No funds were lost in the forest the accountant Generals Office which was contained to two rooms.

“Donations are under ₦30b to date. This is pure mischief and should be disregarded, ” it said.
