On Tuesday night, Twitter was greeted with the news of Oprah Winfrey being arrested on charges of child trafficking and child porn.
However, those reports have turned out to be baseless rumours started by QAnon, a group known for starting wild intrigue speculations.
The group is centred on an anonymous individual known as “Q”.
The reports claimed that her house in Boca Raton, Florida, was being raided and that she had been arrested on sex trafficking charges and possession of child porn.
Some Twitter users have reacted to the news. Some criticized her for being a culprit of the same thing she accuses suspected men of in her documentaries.
While others have shown their support for her and debunked the rumours on her behalf.
In any case, Oprah has reacted to the reports of her house being raided and she was arrested on sex trafficking charges.
She tweeted, “Just got a phone call that my name is trending. And being trolled for some awful FAKE thing. It’s NOT TRUE.
Haven’t been raided, or arrested. Just sanitizing and self-distancing with the rest of the world. Stay safe everybody.”
