President Buhari has expressed disappointment that people have turned the recently attempted suicide bomb in Kaduna into a religious issue.

There have been several debates surrounding the real identity of the supposed suicide bomber.

According to CAN, the alleged suspect identified himself as Mohammed Sani, but upon reaching the police station he started calling himself Nathaniel Samuel.

A video emerged showing the suspect claiming that he was supposed to be a pastor in Living Faith; however, so many people including Fani-Kayode have faulted that claim.

The president has reacted, expressing how disappointed he is that a vocal minority religious leaders in Nigeria (Christian and Muslim) have resorted to blaming games.

According to president Muhammadu Buhari, 90 percent of Boko Haram victims are Muslims.

“Contrary to those falsehoods, Christianity is not contracting under pressure in Nigeria but instead expanding. Neither is it the case that the terrorists are targeting only Christians; the reality indeed is that some 90 percent of all Boko Haram’s victims have been Muslims,” the president said.

“Boko Haram and other terrorists today attempt to build invisible walls between us. They have failed in their territorial ambitions; so now instead they seek to divide our state of mind, by pulling us from one from another—to set one religion seemingly implacably against the other.

“It is very tragic that there is a tiny, if vocal, minority of Nigerian religious leaders—both Muslim and Christian—who appear more than prepared to fall for the divisive antics of terrorists and to blame the opposite religious side,” he added.
