Richard Mofe-Damijo, fondly called RMD, is a popular Nigerian actor who has been in the movie industry from the 1990s to date.

I don’t know who doesn’t love this man, but what I do know is that he’s got plenty of fans out there, and We know y’all must be curious to know more about him. Therefore, we have decided to discuss his biography, age, career achievements, and so many other facts.

RMD has remained active ever since his emergence in Nollywood, featuring in several award-winning movies.

Although a veteran in the movie industry, still, many young Nigerians may know very little or nothing about him. That is most likely not the case for anyone who has been following Nollywood since the late 90s.

Biography

Richard was born in Delta state, in Ajadja community of Udu Kingdom, near Warri. He had his secondary education at Midwest college. He also attended Anglican Grammar school and was a member of the school’s drama club.

After his secondary education, he got admission into the University of Benin where he studied theatre arts. He didn’t stop there, years later he barged another bachelor’s degree at the University of Lagos where he studied law and graduated in 2004.

Age

Richard was born on 6th July 1961. So, he is currently 62. I’m sure you’d not want any 6th of July to go by without you wishing him well.

Career

Before launching fully into the movie industry, he had first worked with Metro magazine and concord newspaper as a reporter. Then he took part in the then-popular soap opera title “Ripples” alongside Genevieve Nnaji.

His first movie titled “out of bounds” and he received a writer and producer credit.

Is He Married?

Of course, he is currently married to former TV personality, Jumobi Adegbesan who happens to be his second wife having lost his first wife, May Ellen Ezekiel, a Nigerian Journalist and Publisher to the cold hands of death in 1996.

In the year 2000, he married his second wife. He has five children; 1 son from his late wife and four other from his current wife.

Is He a Politician?

in 2008, the then Governor of Delta state, Emmanuel Uduagan appointed him as his special adviser on culture and tourism and his tenure ended in 2015, and since then there has been no political career till now.
