Tobi Makinde, popularly known as “Timini” in the popular sitcom, Jenifa’s diary, has come to the defence of his boss, Funke Akindele, following an accusation of abuse levelled against her by a former boss.
Yesterday, Cassandra Owolabi, who used to work with Funke Akindele-Bello as a scriptwriter and actress, took to social media to call out the popular Nollywood actress.
She accused Funke Akindele of causing her workers psychological and physical abuse, saying they “worked under DURESS AND FEAR. It is always about the script, the script is more important than you and your health.”
In what appears to be in stylish defence of his boss, Tobi took to Instagram to sing Funke Akindele’s praise. Although not mentioning Cassandra’s name, he praised the popular actress for helping him reach his current achievement.
“A river that forgets its source will surely dry up,” Tobi Makinde wrote in an Instagram post.
“I remember when I had no idea how I was gonna move on in life after my Master’s Degree, you were there to take me in with little or no experience whatsoever about running production.
“You said you would give me a job without knowing me from anywhere, without knowing my capabilities.”
“All I had was my educational qualification and thirst to work and learn on the job. Prior to this I had tried to work in other production outfits but none took me not because I wasn’t qualified but because they probably didn’t believe in me. “
“You on the other hand, believed in me, took me as a son, scolded me when I messed up all in a bid to make me better at my craft. Only the patient and hardworking will understand who you really are.”
“Thank you mom for everything and may God keep blessing you… @funkejenifaakindele I really appreciate you ma!!”
Meanwhile, Funke Akindele-Bello has yet to respond to the accusations levelled against her by Cassandra Owolabi.
