Biography

Toyin was born in the southern part of Nigeria, Auchi, in Edo State. However, she lived her early life in Ibadan.

She is the youngest of five children in her family. Her father once worked for Ibru organization and her mother a pastor.

Early life & education

The actress started her early education in Edo state.

She attended Oba Kenzo Nursery and Primary School, in Benin. After which, her family relocated to Ibadan due to her father’s retirement.

After relocating to Ibadan, she started from Queen’s Staff School, later on, she attended St. Annes School, Ibadan. 

Afterwards, she attended Iree Polytechnic in Osun State for a National Diploma in Business Studies.

Toyin also attended Olabisi Onabanjo University and bagged a degree in Philosophy, later on, she returned to Iree Polytechnic for an HND in Marketing.

Is Toyin Abraham married? Any kid?

The mother of one got married on 8th July 2013 to Mr Adeniyi Johnson, a Nigerian actor. The two met on scene while shooting a movie and they soon became friends.

In one of her interviews, Toyin mentioned that it took some time before she and Adeniyi got closer.

On December 31st, 2012, Adeniyi pop the question. Then they had their wedding the following year.

However, her marriage with Adeniyi did not last long, as the couple separated after 2 years. The news of their divorce came as a shock to the public.

According to the published information, the separation was due to infidelity on her husband’s part.

The couple got back together with the hopes of working things out, but luck was not on their side.

However, stories making rounds at the time, revealed that Adeniyi was caught cheating again. Then they finally went their separate ways in 2015.

Nevertheless, the actress decided to give love a second chance. In July 2019, she had a traditionally engaged with Kolawole Ajeyemi, who is also an actor.

In August 2019, the couple welcomed their first son, Ire.

 Career

Being a producer and director she has featured in several Nigerian movies. She started her acting career in 2003, when Bukky Wright, a Nigerian actress, visited Ibadan to shoot a movie.

Toyin first starred in Bukky’s movie, “Dugbe Dugbe Nbo”. Thereafter, she began to feature in other films until she came into limelight.

Later on, she began producing her own movies. Her first movie she produced was “Alajota”. 

Since then, she kept working hard to make a name for herself in the movie industry.

According to Toyin, featuring in Okafor’s Law and working with Omoni Oboli, a movie director, was highly instrumental to her success.

Toyin Abraham officially started her herbal medicine business, ‘Toyin Herbal’ in October 2019. She launched the Female Fertility Booster (FFB), a product that makes childbearing easier.

The ‘Female Fertility Booster helps for sexual health, balances menstrual cycle and cramps, supports and stabilizes pregnancy’.

According to the CEO, “Herbal medicine go as far back as we can remember. It is how our great-grandparents and grandparents survived and thrived.”

She is the CEO of CurvslimmingteabyToyin and bodytalkbyToyin. She also owns a TAJ Dresses boutique, situated in Lagos.

The actress who did a change of name; from Toyin Aimakhu to Toyin Abraham came out to clear the air saying, ‘The need for this “rebranding” lies in old family disagreements’.

Aimakhu is her dad’s surname and Abraham is her grandfather’s surname; her family made a decision to switch to their forefathers’ name.

In 2014, she signed a multimillion contract with a huge technological company named Vas2Net.

Toyin signed an ambassadorial deal with Revolution Plus Properties in Lagos.

There were reports that the actress replaced fellow actress, Funke Akindele as the ambassador to NCDC in the fight against COVID-19 – after the latter’s fallout with the LASG for flouting the lockdown order.

But the “Alakada” star, came out to debunk those claims, noting that she is not trying to take advantage of a bad situation.

She wrote: “It has just been brought to my attention that blogs are reporting that I am now NCDC ambassador.

“Implying that I have been used to replace a colleague. That line of thought necessitate I put this out there.

She continued, “I am not an ambassador to NCDC. I do not like the narrative that I am trying to take advantage of a bad situation.

“I support the campaign against Covid-19, I appeared on a video campaign against the pandemic but please let’s not drag another person down. Thank you,” she added.
