Regina Daniels‘ controversial marriage to Ned Nwoko is one thing fans have struggled to stop talking about. Many people have always expressed their disapproval of the marriage due to the huge age difference between them.

Even the actress’s father, Jude Njeogwu, took an exception to the marriage, saying while they were growing up he used to call Ned “Bros” because he is older than him.

“It’s extremely painful to see Ned Nwoko senior get married to my 17-year-old daughter today” – Regina Daniels’ father said in tears as he spoke of the then unapproved union.

Apparently, Jude Njeogwu who didn’t stop short of expressing his grievances has now gotten over his annoyance.

However, we can’t forget everything he said in a hurry. During a phone call with Gidifeed, Barrister Njeogwu revealed that Regina Daniels was born on 10 October 2001 in Lagos State. Due to that, he bemoaned the fact that his ’17-year-old’ daughter was marrying a ’61-year-old’ man.

So why did Regina Daniels lie about her age?

Firstly, since she was born in 2001, it means she started dating Ned when she was very much a minor. Also, she married him in July 2019, meaning she wasn’t even up to 18 years old yet.

Therefore, Ned Nwoko married her as a minor if she was to go by her real age.

That would have been illegal. Therefore, the easiest way out was adding one year to her age.

Did she marry for love?

Some people claim she married him because of his money. While it’s hard to ignore that narrative, we must also bear it in mind that the marriage has also been very beneficial to Ned Nwoko.

For instance, his fan base grew tremendously since he tied the knot with the popular celebrity. Needless to say, that is great for his political ambition.

Apparently, their marriage is going smoothly and they both appear happy. Her happiness, I believe, is the most important thing for her fans.

The actress has just welcomed a newborn son, Munir Nwoko, which makes their bond even stronger.
