ATBU Cut Off Marks For All Departments / Courses (2020)

Published on

ATBU departmental cut off mark is the minimum required JAMB UTME score set for all the departments (courses) found in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. Discover the correct cut off mark for all courses, as announced on ATBU official website.

Founded in 1988, ATBU Bauchi is one of the over 170 NUC approved Universities in Nigeria.

Every year, tens of thousands of students apply to gain admission into ATBU; however, only a few end up achieving that feat.

What disqualifies several students is the annual cut-off mark the institution sets for all UTME candidates; several applicants don’t meet up with the score and, as a result, will be qualified to write post UTME and gain admission.

If you recently sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) — and you have checked your JAMB result — the next thing you must do is check if your score is up to the cut-off mark for the department you applied for.

ATBU departmental cut off mark (point) for 2019

The cut off mark for ATBU is 180, which correlates with the standard set by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

In other words, whether you applied for Engineering or Science courses in ATBU, if you scored up to 180 in your JAMB, ATBU will allow you to register and participate in their annual post UTME examination.

However, registering and participating in the exam after scoring above 180 do not guarantee admission.

Here are the scores we recommend you get in order stake a good claim on ATBU admission:

  • Engineering: We recommend an aggregate score of not less than 230.
  • Science courses (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Geology, etc.): From 200 and above
  • Architecture: We recommend an aggregate score of not less than 230.
  • Every other departments: Get an aggregate score of at least 180.

How do ATBU Cut off Marks affect admissions?

In general, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, calculates obtaining the mean of your UTME and Post UTME score. In other words, both UTME and post UTME scores determine admission.

In most cases, candidates with the highest scores are considered before others. So, reaching the cut off mark doesn’t guarantee admission. That is, the performance of other candidates who chose the same course as you matters too.
