The insurgent group recently attacked travellers in Auno, a village near Maiduguri, Borno State capital. The attack led to the death of 30 travellers and the capture of several women and children.

Consequently, President Muhammadu Buhari paid a condolence visit to the state. However, he didn’t visit the scene of the crime.

As are a result of that visit, the factional leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau issued a statement sounding loud warnings to the president.

In a video reportedly obtained by The Cable, Shekau warned against Buhari ever visiting Borno again.

“Buhari came to Maiduguri pretending to be a good man. He shouldn’t try it again,” He said.

He then went on to give the conditions for which the remaining kidnapped schoolgirls would be released.

Shekau demanded the release of all of its member currently in jail.

Recall that the President recently issued a statement during the UN meeting, where he promised to rescue all the kidnapped girls.
