Check your WAEC result for 2020 May/June or November/December GCE online following this guide.
The West African Examination Council, popularly known as WAEC, organises the largest final year examination for Secondary School Students in West Africa.
Every year, thousands of students in Nigeria and several West African countries sit for the Exam.
After a few months, the result is released and all the students who sat for it can access theirs online. Based on our reliable source, it takes roughly 45 days after the last paper was written for the result to be out.
Currently, there are two versions of WAEC exams, which are: May/June (school candidate) and November/December (private candidate). Whichever you sat for, bear it in mind that the process for checking your result is almost the same.
Take note: If you wrote recently, then you don’t need to purchase any result checking scratch card; but, importantly, you must have the Smart Identity Card you used during the exams. Because in it you’ll find your registration number, serial number and PIN you need to check your result. However, if you wrote a long time ago and don’t have any ePIN voucher, then you need to visit any WAEC office near you to purchase an ePIN voucher.

WAEC Result issues and solutions
Several questions and complaints have reached us concerning checking WAEC result online.
Some of them include:
- When will the result be out?
- I forgot my registration number, how can I get it back?
- How can I purchase the ePIN for checking my result?
- Can I use one Scratch card to check more than one WAEC result?
- I am getting an error message, what to do?
- I failed WAEC, what should I do next?
- Is it possible to upgrade your WAEC result?
We will try as much as possible to answer those questions:
When will WAEC result be out?
Usually, it takes roughly 45 days after the last exam was written for the result to be out. In other words, if you sat for the May/June exam, your result will be out before the end of July or a few weeks into August.
On the other hand, if you sat for the November/December exam, then your result will be out towards the ending of January or in the early parts of February.
I forgot my registration number, how can I get it back?
If you forgot your WAEC registration number, the easy way to get it back is to visit the school where you registered and make a request for it. Most schools keep a record of their WAEC students.
Alternatively, contact support via email ([email protected]) and tell them you wish to retrieve your registration number.
They may ask you to provide certain information which shall be used to confirm you really sat for the exam.
Where to purchase the scratch card for checking WAEC result
You can purchase it at the National Office of WAEC and at any of its Zonal and Branch Offices nationwide at the cost of around 700 naira only.
Can I use one ePIN to check more than one result?
Avoid trying to do that, as it will display an error message. Furthermore, it may lead to you getting penalized.
Getting an error message
If you’re getting an error message (maybe a blank page) and you’re sure you didn’t make any mistake while supplying your data, then the network might be congested at that moment.
You might want to relax a little and try some other time.
Is it possible to upgrade your WAEC result?
We have received messages from people who unfortunately did not perform well in their WAEC result. Many of them are interested in knowing if it’s possible to upgrade their result. We want to make it clear that it is impossible to do that. Therefore, don’t fall victim to the scammers parading the internet and promising to do that.
What to do if you failed WAEC
Failing WAEC is not the end of the world. Now that you know it’s not possible to upgrade your result, as it is in fact even a crime, the next option is to apply for another upcoming exam.
As we’ve earlier noted, the exam is conducted twice a year. If you failed the one for school candidate (May/June), make sure you quickly apply for Nov/Dec (private candidate). But this time, make sure you study harder for your exams.
