Did he steal someone’s song?
That was the exact claim of some Ghanaian singers. On 29 August 2012 popular entertainment website, Nigerian Entertainment Today reported that Flavour N’abania was involved in a legal battle with Ghanaian duo Wutah, for stealing their song “Kwarikwa”.
According to the defunct Wutah duo, “Kwarikwa” contains the same rhythm, chorus and tempo as their own song, Kotos.
But that’s not all. According to DailyPost, some Ghanaian artistes had previously claimed Flavour stole their intellectual property. They said Flavour’s hit song ‘Ashawo’ was stolen from an old Ghanaian highlife song.
And it turns out Flavour recorded his original version of the Ashawo track with some Ghanaian artistes, Stone of music duo Bradez, and Asem. However, it was Flavour’s solo remix version ‘Nwa baby’ that became a big hit.
Flavour N’abania is a philanthropist
Mr Flavour has a music foundation established in 2012 and based in Lagos, Nigeria. According to him, the Chinedu Okoli Music Foundation is a way to give back to society.
