However, not too many people know how to achieve that.

The starting point is always the hardest part of any freelancing career.

You have to prove your worth over and over again before you begin to make a decent amount of sales.

You could buy traffic from websites or other Fiverr Gigs that sell traffic.

However, if you really weigh the pros and cons, you’ll know that buying traffic for your gigs is not worth it.

Organic traffic is the real deal on Fiverr.

But before we go on, let’s have an overview of what organic traffic is all about.

Organic traffic are visitors and clicks your Fiverr Gig receives from the Fiverr’s search engine or from any other platform you’ve shared your Gig for free.

In order words, organic traffic is free. Which makes it all the more interesting.

You don’t have to spend extra money on Gig promotion to make sales.

If you’re interested in driving traffic to your Fiverr gig for free, here are the 5 easy steps you must follow:

1. Know your Keywords

I’d take it that you’re not a marketer—so SEO may sound foreign to you. SEO simply means ‘Search Engine Optimization’.

Carrying out proper on page SEO involves the appropriate use of tags and Gig Description.

You need to add all the relevant keywords to your Gig description and tags.

Keywords are the terms buyers are likely to search for when they visit Fiverr looking for freelancers to get a particular job done.

Without the right keywords, you won’t show up when search queries are made.

However, you must be careful when you add keywords. You mustn’t overuse a particular keyword, or else, it’ll be considered keyword stuffing.

How do you get keywords?

Visit fiverr, and type in the service you render in the search box. It’ll automatically provide you with other queries related to your services.

If you’re a content writer, queries you’ll be required to add to your gig description include:

• content writer
• website content writer
• Ebook writer
• essay writer
• article writer, etc.

As you must have noticed, the only query I entered was ‘writer’.

Fiverr automatically generated those keywords.

So if you’re not a content writer, all you have to do is type in the service you render to automatically get keywords.

2. Promote your gig like crazy

After creating a Gig, one of the first things you can do to quickly boost its traffic is by sharing it with your friends on social platforms.

Most people, however, do not like sharing their Gigs on social platforms, maybe because you feel shy about working on Fiverr.

You shouldn’t be shy about what you do.

The earlier you embrace your profession, the earlier you begin to excel at it.

If you have a huge number of twitter followers, share your Gig with them.

Or better still, share it on one of your professional accounts—stackoverflow, dribble, linkedin, etc.

If you have a great deal of followers on those platforms, then your Gig is bound to get a fair share of traffic from them.

If you have a blog, you can also promote your Fiverr services on it.

Sharing your Gig on your blog or website will not only increase your chances of attracting more traffic, but will also provide a backlink to your Fiverr Gig—which will increase its chances of appearing higher in Fiverr search results or Google search results.

Blogs are very cheap to start nowadays; with BlueHost, you can pay as low as $2.75 per month for hosting.

There’s also blogger.com. You can create a blog for free on blogger and for promoting your Fiverr gigs.

A lot of Fiverr sellers do that.

3. Increase your click through rate

Impressions and clicks are two different things.

You may get a lot of impressions but receive very few clicks. And there are several factors that can lead to that.

Using a low quality picture or poor choice of words in your gig title can cause that.

When your Gig appears in Fiverr search results, people will not click on them if your pictures are not nice.

So your gig picture is almost as important as the on-page SEO previously talked about.

Your title needs to be very precise and straight to be point.

In your title, you must add words that make your gig offerings standout from the rest.

4. Increase Your Conversion Rate

After creating and publishing a new Gig on Fiverr, you’ll notice that the first few days usually gets a lot of traffic.

That’s the moment you have to capitalize on. You need to start converting visits to sales as soon as possible.

Your utmost goal is not to increase impressions, clicks and views; but to make more sales.

That’s why you need to set your Gig pricing in such a way that it will be able to convert early.

Another thing that can help your Gig convert early is by adding a Gig video early enough.

Fiverr loves Gigs that use video description.

Buyers do too…

If your Gig converts early, Fiverr will begin to rank it higher up the search result; which will ultimately increase your Gig impressions, clicks and sales.

5. Keep old buyers coming back

This is a technique bloggers use in growing their blogs.

We work hard to build a base of loyal readers. Similarly, Fiverr sellers must work hard to build a base of loyal buyers.

Give every buyer that works with you enough reasons to work with you again. With that, almost every new buyer you get becomes a long term customer.

This will not only help you build your monthly traffic, but will also send good signals to the Fiverr algorithm that your Gig renders good services.

Not too long ago, Fiverr launched ‘Fiver pro‘. An opportunity for the best freelancers on the platform to standout from the crowd. Without an iota of doubt, a freelancer with a fiverr pro gig will earn with one order what a regular freelancer earns by completing 10-20 orders. Well, according to the pricing most pro sellers set on their gigs.

But the question now is: will a Fiverr pro seller make one sale before a regular freelancer makes 20 sales?

In order to become a highly successful freelancer, you need to make all the right choices. Choosing to become a pro seller is supposed to be one of them.

Once you get approved for Fiverr pro, you get a badge that distinguishes your pro gig from regular gigs.

Freelancers with Fiverr pro gigs enjoy a lot of benefits. Coupled with the fact that they can set a higher gig pricing, they also get featured on the Fiverr affiliate program – an opportunity to further boost their sales.

Fiverr pro is new and a lot of things are still being put into place.

Since its launch, I quite developed an interest in how things would unfold, and have been keeping track of how pro sellers have performed, based on: gig orders, sales, and reviews.

In my opinion, most regular high ranking fiverr gigs will continue making by far more sales than most freelancers with pro gigs and I’ll explain why.

Reasons some Fiverr pro gigs have struggled

1. People will always love cheap or free

The Fiverr pro badge is an endorsement from Fiverr. When buyers see that badge, even with a very high price tag, aren’t they supposed to queue up for your service?

Nay, they won’t!

And the reason is simple… “people will always love cheap or free.”

99.9% of buyers visit Fiverr because they love the $5 services they get from freelancers. That mentality hasn’t changed a bit. So, even with pro gigs displayed, they will always find the cheap ones more appealing.

That’s the whole concept of Fiverr in the first place. The $5 platform.

2. Most buyers already have their favorite sellers

When most buyers visit Fiverr, they search for those particular freelancers they’ve been doing business with for a long time – freelancers that delivered quality services to them and have proved their qualities time and time again.

Put yourself in the buyers’ shoes…

When you have a freelancer you’ve been doing business with for many years and have never had a reason to complain about any delivery, do you then need to see a pro badge to know that freelancer is a pro?

certainly not!

3. Even regular sellers deliver quality jobs

This point, in a way, aligns with the second point. Many sellers on Fiverr have not applied and don’t plan on applying for a Fiverr pro gig, simply because they are doing very fine with their regular gigs and are already making a lot of sales with it.

Too many people on freelance platforms are more than willing to offer ridiculously cheap gig pricing in a bid to cope with the competition from rivals.

So, they are more than satisfied with where they are and may never apply for a Fiverr pro account. This creates a huge challenge for pro sellers.

And like I said earlier, even without a pro badge, a lot of buyers already know some regular freelancers that can be regarded as

‘pro sellers’ and are happy to always work with them.

4. A lot of Fiverr pro gigs set very high pricing

When I searched for Fiverr pro logo designers, I noticed that some pro gigs set a pricing of $2000, while some other set a pricing of $100. And as expected, the pro sellers with lower gig pricing have continued to amass more sales than the ones with very high pricing.

Many freelancers have struggled to make sales with their pro gigs because of the high pricing they set. Don’t get me wrong, you deserve every penny you set.

But you may find it difficult to make sales because a vast majority of other quality freelancers prefer to set a lower gig pricing than yours.

There’s no equilibrium in the freelancing setup — so many things are wrong and have to be looked into.

In the outside world, there are Labor Unions that fight for the right of workers — help them get the best possible treatment from Government agencies, private firms, or whichever organization they work with.

However, freelance platforms have complete control over home-based jobs. There are no agencies in place to fight for the rights of freelancers. Something like “Freelancers’ Labor Union”.

In recent years, we’ve seen so many information collection laws emerge. The recent and most notable one is the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). Website owners have had to run helter-skelter to make their websites GDPR compliant.

Freelance platforms command millions of workforce worldwide, and the number keeps increasing. But sadly, no one cares about setting up laws to help this ever increasing internet workforce.

If there could be a law so strong to shake the whole of the web (even Google). Why can’t there be a law to help improve freelancers’ well-being — a law that compels freelance platform to set a minimum pricing for professional jobs.

Those are all my personal opinions. Don’t expect to see a change anytime soon.

So, for now, freelance platforms remain ‘survival of the cheapest’.

So to make more sales with your pro gig, you may have to bring down your gig pricing to match what other Fiverr pro gigs offer.

Once enabled, buyers will be aware of your online status and your readiness to work – which is a great opportunity for new freelancers.

The available now feature is a must use for new freelancers; especially due to the fact that you’re new and most likely not getting enough attention and orders from buyers.

In recent times, it’s been extremely difficult for new sellers to get started on Fiverr – because there are already established first page sellers in almost every sub-categories.

But when buyers are in need of urgent work, they most times visit Fiverr to search for freelancers that are online and can attend to them quickly.

This is an added advantage that every freelancer, seeking more jobs and more money, must leverage on.

The question now is, who doesn’t want more money. Even freelancers that earn over $5000 monthly are most times still craving for more. Which spells bad omen for the new seller.

Fiverr added the available now feature in order to help the struggling new sellers who are probably not getting enough orders due to the high competition among sellers on the platform.

In my tips for increasing Fiverr sales, I stressed the importance of always staying online – which can be achieved using the Fiverr iOs app.

But just staying online is not enough. You have to turn on the available now feature if you are interested in making more sales on Fiverr.

How to qualify for Fiverr available now

As obvious as it may seem, from the BETA tag still given to this feature, I’ll still go on and emphasize that the Fiverr available now BETA is still being tested and not available to all sellers.

Since Fiverr is not interested in seeing this feature abused, there are a few conditions you need to satisfy in order to be eligible to enable Fiverr available now.

Those conditions are:

• You must not have more than 5 queued gig orders
• You must have a low order cancellation rate
• You must have completed and delivered not less than 5 gig orders

If you don’t qualify for the available now feature, you’ll get a notification indicating that whenever you try to activate it.

How to enable Fiverr available now

Step 1. Login to Fiverr and click on the Available NOW icon

The available now icon should be located at the top-right corner of your Fiverr account.

Step 2. Agree on terms and click on activate

Click on the box that agrees to the term that you will reply messages under 5 minutes. And thereafter, click on the button to toggle “I’m AVAILABLE NOW” feature on.

Step 3. Stay online and reply buyers’ messages fast

You need to keep yourself logged in to Fiverr either on your Desktop browser or Fiverr mobile app. I recommend you download the Fiverr mobile app so as to receive real time notifications of buyers messages.

If you don’t reply messages within 5 minutes, Fiverr will automatically switch off the available now feature on your behalf.

Fiverr AVAILABLE NOW best practices

Now that you have successfully turned on the available now feature on your Fiverr account, you need to be aware of the best practices whenever you have this feature on – so as to stay safe and avoid getting suspended from using this amazing feature.

Like I said earlier, if you don’t reply buyer’s messages in under 5 minutes, Fiverr will automatically switch off this feature on your behalf. If you go on and reactivate the it, then you must make sure not to repeat it three times.

After three times of not responding to buyers’ messages, Fiverr will automatically suspend you from using the Available Now feature for the next 30 days.

So, you need to make sure to turn off Available Now whenever you are not really available. After all, it only requires one click.

Also, the available now doesn’t hasten your gig delivery date. Whatever delivery time is stipulated in your ordered gig, that is when you are obligated to deliver.

Why use the available now instead of just staying online?

A large percentage of buyers who visit Fiverr are looking for urgent attention. It has been observed that most sellers just download the Fiverr app and remain online; without truly being available.

But with the conditions given to sellers who switch on this feature, it makes it a real indication of a seller’s readiness to work. This makes it entirely different from the Online Now feature.

Additionally, it is highly likely that most Fiverr top-sellers will not be eligible to switch this feature on. Since they are most times busy dealing with one order or the other.

Most Fiverr top-sellers usually have more than 5 queued gig orders; which disqualifies them from using the Available now feature. So it’s a huge opportunity for new sellers to make more sales on Fiverr.
